Owen's Orthopedic Diagnoses...
When I took Owen to see the Orthopedic Surgeon I must say how nervous I was as to what the results would be. I am happy to say that it was all good news! Because Owen is still so young, his fingers will heal up just fine. If he had been older he would've had to have the surgery to put the pins in. He has to spend one week in a long cast (mostly to save him from himself, trying to get out of the cast) and then 2 weeks in a short cast. Then, he'll be in a splint for about 3-4 more weeks. He's a lucky little guy! I still can't believe a Slip n' Slide could do so much damage!!! We boxed that thing back up and took it right back to Target! We'll stick with the sprinkler for the duration of the summer!
What Color of Cast Do You Want?
"I Want a Bumblee Cast!!"
The lady who put on Owen's cast had no idea what "bumblebee" really meant. Owen was talking about the Transformer named Bumblebee. She thought he meant a real bumblebee. Thankfully the colors were the same and he was a happy camper! haha! Such a creative little guy! She told him that his was the 2nd bumblebee cast that she's ever done before. He thought it was cool!

What's a Buckle Fracture?
Well, we found out today! Owen went to run and slide on our new slip 'n slide and fell forward onto his hand, pulling the bones away from each other in 3 different fingers causing multiple fractures. I knew immediately that he was hurt, but had no idea how badly. It only took me about 5 mintues to decide to take him to urgent care. He was sitting on my lap in the kitchen, wet from the water, concerned that he was getting my shorts wet...sweet baby boy! I told him 'if hugs make you feel better...I don't care about my clothes!' The dr. thought it was maybe bruised or sprained and she said it might take an hour to get the x-ray results back, so she sent us home with his hand/arm in a splint. An hour later she called and said, "it's worse than you think!" I thought she was joking, but come to find out he broke 3 fingers (pointer, middle and ring) where the fingers and knuckles meet. He has at least those 3 fractures. We have an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon tomorrow. Hopefully he won't need anything more than a permanent cast. Precious boy of mine! Such a hard day for you...and me! I love you!

Zoo Fun!
With Nathan home this weekend we decided to do something fun! And, the fact that it's the first Sunday in over a month that it hasn't rained helped the decision as well. We had the perfect, summer day! Jeans, however, were not a great idea!
I can't get over how grown up she's looking! Such a beauty!

Owen's class at the local fire department for a field trip!
Owen, David and Josh (Owen's buddies!)
Silly boys!
Owen, David and Josh (Owen's buddies!)
Silly boys!
The entire class on a fire truck, with a real fire fighter and Ms. Sarah
Since Owen's birthday isn't until the summer, he was able to bring in treats early for his class. After giving him many options of which treats he could bring he finally decided on icecream cone cupcakes. They were a real hit with the other kid's and Owen felt very special. Ms. Sarah gave him a book and a special sticker to wear.

Owen's Silly Faces
Lately, whenever I want to take a picture of Owen he makes me take a ton and has to make a different silly face in each one. He's so silly! Today I just wanted to get a photo of him in this hat that he's been wearing constantly when he plays outside, but he insisted on getting a bunch of different silly faces in each photo. And, everytime I'd take one he'd run over and have to look at it. He'd giggle and then say, "Okay, here's another silly face!" Ha! Who could resist this face? Not me!!! I'll take his silly faces any day of the week!
Pudge's Last Day With Us
We had no idea that these pictures would be the very last ones we'd have with Pudge. Rylie got him back in December after Penelope passed away. We had her for over 3 years. Yesterday Rylie had Pudge outside and I thought it would be fun to get some silly pictures of him with her and her friends. I'm so glad I did this because now she has something to treasure. We never would have known that he would die the next day. He was full of energy and it didn't seem like anything was wrong with him. Poor Rylie! She loved him so much!
