Mother's Day, Part 2

A Mother's Day
Mom and Dad were reading in the den
Mom said, "I'm going to bed, it's late."
She went to the kitchen to make three
School lunches, another night in mother's day.
Put the cereal bowls out for breakfast
Set the coffee maker for 6 a.m.
Sewed a loose button on brothers shirt for him;
Checked sisters math homework, sent a note to the teacher,
Added eggs to the grocery list
Started a load of laundry, made sure all the doors were locked,
Put water in the puppy's dish.
Wrote a check to kid's piano teacher,
Turned the dishwasher on;
And, dad called out, 'Honey, what's taking you so long?'
Have I ever thanked you for everything you've done?
Now all that I can say is, 'I love you Mom.'
Hung some art on the refrigerator door and,
headed up the stairs.
Kissed all the children and helped sister comb,
her wavy golden hair.
Washed her make-up off and turned off the bath;
Lay down in the moon soft light
And kissed dad good night.
Have I ever thanked you for everything you'dve done?
Now all that I can say is, 'I love you Mom.'
Thank you for nursing me through all the colds and fevers;
Thank you for believin in me when there were no other believers.
And it's never too late to say, 'I love you Mom'

Landon decided to give me his Mother's Day gift last night. I wanted him to wait, but he said he was too excited. I didn't get photo's yet, but I'll add them later. I got a Kerr jar filled with homemade flower pens. It looks like a bouquet. Very cute! Then, he decorated a CD cover for me and when I played it last night it was his voice...thanking me for all of the things I do for him and telling me the things he loves about me. Needless to say, I cried. It's funny how they appreciate things that you wouldn't necessarily think were important yourself. The rest of the CD is songs that his teacher, Mr. Adams, added...all Mother songs (including the one above that I'd never heard before, but it touched my heart). Rylie did something similar for him a few years ago and I just love it! My blessing's this weekend is the love of my kid's!
